On May 15th embedded in the traditional summer camp the Karate Federation of Lower Austria organized a Dan-Examination for the Karateka of the numerous Karate clubs of Lower Austria. Not so many Karateka attended the grading but those who did, have been excellent prepared. Most of interest was the grading of Dr. Thomas Hausner for 7th Dan. Dr. Hausner is the representative of Shito Ryu in Austria and very well integrated into the Austian Karate scene. The grading commission consisted of Gerhard Jedliczka, Shotokan, Masataka Oshita, Shito Ryu, Dr. Friedrich Gsodam, Jundokan and Erhard Kellner, Saiwa Kai, all holding the 8th Dan by themselves (see photograph). Two commissions have been working for the different grading levels, so the visitors had the opportunity to see the abilities of the candidates depending on their levels. All in all the performances have been very impressive. The examination followed the rules of the Austrian Karate Federation, as well the traditional way as the sportive way for competitors in championships. The photographs give you an impression of the event.
